Terms and Conditions
Balancing Health Limited, trading as Motion Remedy
Company number 14121183 · 27a Station Lane, Hornchurch, Essex, RM12 6JL
Last updated: August 2026
Please read these terms before booking. By making an appointment with Motion Remedy you agree to them.
1. Booking an appointment
You can book:
- through this website
- by telephone on 01708 898950
- through Fresha, our online booking system
- through Treatwell
Appointments run from 30 minutes to 2 hours. You will receive a confirmation email with your appointment details once your booking is secured.
We reserve the right to decline or end a booking where treatment would not be safe or appropriate for you. Where we do so before treatment begins, any deposit is refunded in full.
2. Prices
All prices shown on our website and in our booking systems include VAT at the prevailing rate.
The price confirmed at the point of booking is the price you pay. Where a treatment is shown as “from” a price, the final price depends on the duration and options you select.
We may change our prices from time to time. Changes do not affect appointments already booked and paid for.
3. Deposits and payment
- A deposit of 50% of the treatment price, per person, is required to secure every appointment.
- Online bookings: the deposit is taken immediately.
- Telephone bookings: we send a secure payment link by text. Payment must be received within 24 hours or the appointment is released.
- Your deposit is deducted from the treatment price. The balance is payable by cash or card after your treatment.
4. Changing or cancelling your appointment
We ask for at least 48 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule.
- More than 48 hours before your appointment: your deposit is refunded in full, or carried over to your new appointment.
- Within 48 hours of your appointment: your deposit is retained.
- You do not attend and do not tell us (no-show): your deposit is retained. We do not charge anything further.
Because the deposit is 50% of the treatment price, a no-show costs you half the price of the treatment and no more.
You can reschedule yourself through Fresha up to 48 hours before your appointment, or contact us directly.
If illness, an emergency or genuinely exceptional circumstances prevent you attending, please tell us as soon as you reasonably can. We will always try to help, and we regularly waive these charges where the reason is genuine. These terms exist to protect therapist time, not to catch people out.
We will give you as much notice as we can if we ever need to cancel or move your appointment. If we do, you may choose a full refund or an alternative time.
5. Arriving late
Please arrive a few minutes early so you get your full treatment time.
If you arrive late, your appointment will still end at the scheduled time — we cannot run into the next client’s booking. The full price remains payable. We allow 5 minutes between sessions for changing and cleaning the room.
6. Health, consent and safety
Before your first treatment you will complete a consultation form covering your medical history and any current symptoms. Your therapist will discuss it with you and carry out a brief postural assessment.
You agree that:
- The information you give us about your health is accurate and complete, and you will tell us about any changes at future appointments.
- You will tell your therapist immediately if anything during treatment is uncomfortable or painful.
- You understand that if you do not disclose a relevant medical condition, we cannot be responsible for consequences arising from that non-disclosure.
Our therapists do not:
- diagnose medical conditions
- prescribe or advise on medication
- perform spinal or skeletal manipulation or adjustment
- treat physical or mental health conditions
Nothing said or done during a treatment is medical advice. If you have a health concern, please see your GP or an appropriate healthcare professional. If we believe treatment is not appropriate for you, or that you should see a doctor first, we will tell you and, where we can, refer you on.
Some treatments are not suitable in certain circumstances — including during pregnancy, after recent surgery, with certain skin conditions or infections, while taking anticoagulants, or where there is a history of blood clots. Please tell us about these when you book so we can advise you.
Cupping therapy commonly leaves circular marks on the skin. These are not bruises and usually fade within 3 to 10 days. Please take this into account when booking.
7. Pregnancy massage
We offer pregnancy massage from 16 weeks to 36 weeks.
We do not treat during the first trimester. We may ask you to obtain your midwife’s or GP’s agreement before treatment, particularly where your pregnancy is high risk or where you have any complications. Please contact us before booking so we can discuss your circumstances.
8. Clients under 18
We treat clients of any age, subject to the following conditions.
- A parent or legal guardian must give written consent before treatment. Consent is recorded on the consultation form and is required for each course of treatment.
- A parent or legal guardian must remain present in the treatment room for the whole appointment.
- The parent or guardian completes the consultation form and is responsible for the accuracy of the medical information given.
- Your therapist may decline to treat a client under 18 where they judge that treatment is not appropriate, or that the client should see a GP first.
- We will always explain what a treatment involves to the young person themselves and will stop at any point if they ask us to.
We ask parents and guardians to make bookings for under-18s by telephone on 01708 898950 rather than online, so we can discuss suitability first.
9. Conduct
Our therapists are qualified healthcare professionals and this is a clinical environment.
Any sexual or suggestive remark, request or behaviour will result in the immediate end of the session. The full price of the appointment will remain payable, and we will decline future bookings. We report serious incidents to the police.
We treat you with respect and ask the same in return. We may decline service to anyone who is abusive or threatening to our staff.
10. Your rights
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
We will carry out our services with reasonable care and skill, as required by section 49 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015. If we do not, you are entitled to the remedies set out in sections 54 to 56 of that Act.
If you are unhappy with any part of your treatment, please tell us — see our Refund Policy, which also sets out our complaints procedure.
11. Your personal information
We hold health information about you, which is treated as special category data under the UK GDPR. How we collect, use, share and retain it is set out in our Privacy Policy.
12. Gift vouchers
Gift vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase and are subject to the terms set out in our Refund Policy.
13. Liability
We do not exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Subject to that, our liability to you in connection with any treatment is limited to the price paid for that treatment. We are not liable for losses that were not foreseeable at the time of booking.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version that applies to your appointment is the version published when you booked.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
